Recently I noticed a T-Shirt-Shop that I think you should know.

ASPASHIRTS.COM

I asked the designer for an interview and he agreed.

“Well since my career as a t-shirt designer has just started, only about a month ago actually, I think I can start right at the very beginning of it.
I have always liked to draw cool stuff, mostly words or names. I’ve spent many school hours by doing so.

When I got to university, I got to know a CAD program. It’s used to build full 3D models of whatever device, from little screws up to full airplanes or cars.

I really love that program, and soon afterwards I started to…well…you could say “abuse” it. It’s absolutely fantastic what you can do with the program - not only for the obvious ingeneering stuff, but regarding cool designs, writings or stuff like that. So I did some full 3D designs, like my logo http://www.freehost.ag/aspa/aspaheader.png
But actually every design I create starts in that program.

Mostly (for normal designs) I then get a high quality image taken exactly from the front, so the 3D can’t be seen anymore.

Well that’s how all my designs are done, and I guess it’s quite a special way of designing, but it works perfectly for me (and it’s also good to get some practice with the program!)

As I mentioned before, I did all the stuff just for me, because I liked it. About a month ago, I thought it would be cool to have some of it printed on a tee or a hoodie - and that’s how I got to spreadshirt. Well and after that it went pretty fast: I got my prints, everybody around me liked them a lot and SP offered the possibility to open a shop - easy decision there! I got hooked from the first moment.

I like to  have the opportunity to show my work to others, see if somebody else likes what I do, which is really great of course.
I hope there are people out there who like my stuff and have fun with it - at least as much as I do when I’m creating it!

I currently don’t have a lot of spare time, but my head is full of ideas (I’m pretty sure my wallet won’t like it if I put all of them to reality) and I’m working whenever I’ve got some time to create new stuff. Be prepared to see a lot more of my designs…”

Have some fun with it.
