Mike is a computer programmer / system designer and the running of MJR Productions is a sideline that he`s trying to build up.
He got into the POD shirts arena via his involvement with a Suffolk Advanced Motorcyclists (http://www.suffolk-advanced-motorcyclists.com),
where he set up a shop (that he still runs for charity - http://sam.spreadshirt.net) producing shirts with the club’s logo on them.
He then produced some shirts for his daughter’s dancing class. After that came a couple of designs of his bike and car (Honda ST1300 & Honda Civic) just for him.
Several people liked these so he made them available online. From there it has grown and grown to where he runs an integrated shop for both the EU and US.
The bikes are still his biggest sellers. They are all produced using the lovely flock material, which gives them a superb quality finish that he thinks looks much better than screen printing. He adds new bikes as people request them, they appreciate that detailed work to produce the detailed vector drawings.
His shop doesn’t run with a particular theme, he adds products based on what he thinks will sell and what he can easily publicise.
One particular addition has been the merchandise for Ipswich Town Football Club’s approved forum (http://www.tractor-boys.com) whose logo he designed.
This is an area he`s keen to expand on, providing merchandise for other clubs/organisations who don’t want the hassle of running a webshop.
What can I say, it`s pretty cool stuff he does. You should take a look.
